Wasn't I the one who pointed out that this is the 1980's with Audi all over again?! Toyotas weren't the problem. The problem is the old epople who shouldn't be driving any more flooring the gas instead of hitting the brakes.

I guess I was not happy that everyone jumped on the "pummel Toyota" bandwagon blaming them for hiding stuff that was potential fatal when in actuality it was stupid ass consumers causing the problems (I call it natural selection). Just like in all the housing melt down.

Were there people who were swindled, absolutely, was most of the mess caused by morons who bought more house than they could afford because they couldn't do second grade math of $2000 in income minus $2400 in expenses is a negative number?!

GRRRR!!!! now someone hand over their dog so I can kick it!

But they only tested 9 out of the hundreds if not thousands that had issues. A sticking throttle will gradually pick up steam, these cars took off like rockets?? A customer of mine was one of the ones that had a crash. She was in a new Camry hybrid. In her case I think it was human error. That error being a 90 year old being behind the wheel of a car..

I think the actual count was under 100 reported accidents and it was found that people never hit the brake.

Don't get me wrong the floor mats and the actual stick pedals (was like a month long run of vehciles manufactured) were bad and they should have updated that sooner but having people say their car went berserk out of control and wouldn't stop even with the brake were lying.

the only vehicle that can overpower its brakes is a top fuel dragster. I think the Camry's had like 560 brake horsepower. Good luck overcoming that with your 165 hp I-4 or 265 hp V-6.

I bet all manufacturors have little errors that make it through but are rarely caught.
