Default Jeep Truck coming in 2012?

Register to stop seeing this ad!

Did you guys read this article on the possible Jeep Pickup Truck coming in 2012?

Sources Say: Jeep Pickup Truck Coming for 2012 - PickupTrucks.com News

I really hope they do. I was so bummed when the Gladiator didn't end up coming out. It might be almost time for MahindraTruckForum.com's sister site, JeepTruckForum.com to come online

too much drag? dude, Jeeps have vertical grilles and windshields...
But I agree, it's sharp looking. I hope they build it.

heck yes too much drag. Probably would add .10 on the Cd and drop mileage (highway) by 2-3 mpg. That's a lot when there is so much focus on mileage.

Not to be a PITA, but the cd of a Wrangler hardtop is .55 (softtop .58). You think that tire is going to add 18%?
But you raise an interesting thought regarding the brand in general. While I doubt anyone buys a Jeep for fuel economy (especially highway), I wonder how they will meet the new standards coming out. Not sure how the regs are set up, maybe the Jeep line can be offset by the small Fiats being brought over. Maybe (wishful thinking) they will add an oil-burner to the line-up to compensate for the gas burners...

I didn't realize it was that terrbile! Sheesh. I figured it was in the low .40 something like most SUV/CUV's.

Hopefully they addressed that with this prototype.

At least there is no where else to go but to improve

It wouldn't take much to make a huge difference.
