Register to stop seeing this ad! Recently sent the Jeep.com site a question. "Is a Newsletter or blog planned for the 2012 Pickup?"Now while the response was mostly a form letter I'm going to read it with a glass-half-full attitude. Perhaps all the M&M disappointments has me wishing a bit harder for a different solution to our lack of choices in mid-size and compact pick-ups. Item 1: "At the present time, Chrysler Group LLC has not disclosed official information indicating if and when a pickup truck will be offered under the Jeep brand name." So they are not saying the earlier trade news article is dead wrong. This is very different from a response by the Dodge group last winter. It was something like 'we have no money or interest in updating the Dakota'. While Ford never even responded to a request for a 2012 Ranger. Item 2: "I have taken the liberty of logging your interest and your feedback in wanting to see Jeep offer a pickup truck in the near future. Comments like yours are just one way Chrysler Group LLC learns of improvements to the current lineup of vehicles that are desired by consumers. With the way marketing trends consistently change, I would not hesitate to see new products on the horizon in the future specifically suited to your needs." So a) Jeep is giving it some thought! and b) let's swamp their logging system with Jeep pick-up requests . . . pickup based on the Jeep Gladiator concept from 2005, of course. Like I said, have decided to read this with all the positive thinking possible.
