Can't believe people are disappointed in the Ecoboost MPG figures. 2WD MPG up 27% over the 5.4 it replaces with more power.

It's not that the Ecoboost doesn't get good mileage, it didn't get near what Ford claimed it got (24 highway and someinth like 19 city) and it is massively overkill in its application.
A smaller 3.0 ecoboost still around 340-360 hp and the same in torque would be plenty, especially considering the torque curve. If that motor was in the truck and they modified the aerodynamics and made it go on a diet would produce a truck capable of 24-25 highway and 19 city. I would likely buy that truck.
I have a feeling that is what will end up in the completely redesigned 2014 or 2016 truck.
