My version of a hyundai truck would be the engines out of their Genesis cars power and efficient. Like I said before the best small truck I had was a 83 ranger with a 255 c.i. v8 and a flippin blast to drive. the 255 was apparently in some fords.,a version of a 302. Tell me what you think.

My research says that a 255 Ford (Mercury really) V8 was a flat-head engine from the early 50's... long before the the OHV 289 was in service. There was also a 255 straight 6 in the mid 70's in the cars, but no 255 OHV V8 that I can find... I definitely wouldn't want a flat-head engine in anything other than a weekend show-toy.

Blue - there was a 255 ci v8 that was produced from 1980-1982. Was run in some of the mustang/capri and thunderbirds to get the CAFE scores down. Basically it was a small bore in the 302 block. And with no offense to the guy with the Ranger with it - this engine just sucked. No aftermarket performance stuff for it, can't even swap on 302 heads to make it breathe better. It was brought out as an econo-v8 and never was anything more than that.

I have the 2010 TRD Taco, got tired of waiting on Mahindra. I love the truck, but it has some issues. The seat is actually really good, that is, TRD seats, not sure about the regular one. I wish the have a leather seat option but they don't.
The transmition is quite rough! It jerks you around on the low gears, specially when you are travelling around your neighbohood, 35mph-40mph. and when you stop, a couple of seconds later you feel this kick, like somebody hit you in the back, and it is just the truck getting into 1st gear! Done the TBS for it, but not help.
Everything else has been really good. Done some offroading for the first time (have a 4x4 now) and I am hocked! The truck is the most agile truck out there and fun to drive.
I am sure when the 2012 model comes in I will be jealus. They are supposed to come with big changes on the outside and inside and make it more fuel efficient.
Now I get 18mpg. with my double cab 4x4 V6 and it seems to be the average from other people in the Tacoma forum.
It is not a perfec truck, but no doubt the best mid size truck out there. I test drove them ALL! Tacoma has the most "fun factor" than any other, and the only one with back up camera is just worth Gold. Specially for me that I bought the long bed version (6ft).
PS:I am still waiting to take a Test drive in the Mahindra!
Cheers
David
