Register to stop seeing this ad! Moneycontrol.com reports from India this morning that a top official (we assume in India) tells them that Mahindra will make an announcement on the US launch of Mahindra TR20 and TR40 pickups in 2 or...[[ This is a content summary only. it sounds like our speculation that they had not passed the tests yet and were having to rework and retest were probably right on. Why can't they just tell the truth? So, two or three weeks until they announce the timetable means they will know if they are successful with their rework in two or three weeks, then a month or so until certification is in hand, and then begin manufacture. Sounds like late summer or early fall for most of us, unless they still can't pass the tests.

Does anybody know the process that a new vehicle goes through for crash testing? I think it is required that vehicles like the Mahindra pickups are subjected to crash testing, I gather that they have already done this testing since they added the bumper guards to the front bumper (how ridiculous is that, today's bumpers aren't designed to get bumped). Does the NHTSA hold the results of the test until the vehicle goes on sale?

There were three different versions of that article on the Reuters India site. Two had bylines and one did not. It was written by Janaki Krishnan. With editing by Ranjit Gangadharan.
Sounds like trustworthy people to me. ![]() Byline

I guess this news is not correct, since the new post from ddmahindra
He states that they have to train the mechanics first and than 35 days later they will launch the trucks... So, probably nothing will happen until April, as predicted earlier... |
