so that's my question- does anybody know if they have started assembling the trucks that will be shipped here? I heard they're starting with 2000, and that takes awhile to put together that many. It will take awhile for a boat to get from India to the east coast, and then out to the dealers. You can kind of estimate those times if you have a beginning time, so have they started building trucks for us yet?

AZD have a great point.... So, if they are still testing... means that
Or Whatever moditfications for improvement will not apply for the first 2000 make in India (bad news for us) or that the trucks will not be ready this Spring (as many other sources predict) I am not sure what is worst....

Well, I went back and listened to the video message to the dealers and assuming Mr. Perez is still talking to the dealers, he said in the video: Quote " As soon as Mahindra receives the final certification, I will personally communicate to you and I will give you exact date for start of production and on sale dates"
I'm sure one of the dealers on this site will share the news as soon as it comes.

As Toyota will tell you, it is much cheaper to correct a problem on the assembly line compared to the dealers service center. I can't believe they will built a US specific truck until they receive Certification from the EPA. It just seems like it would be a financial nightmare. Mahindra has not shown themselves to be concerned about meeting any time table for launch. That is why I still think the delay in applying for Certification is a significant fact.

It seems to me that the first Indian vehicle off the assembly line bound for the U.S. will be an occasion for Mahindra to call the press in, an historic event if you will. I'd imagine that even JP couldn't keep it a secret from us.

Hey Andy, move this to the general forum. I thought that was where it would land but didn't. J
Hi, Just looking for info on the diesel engines some of you folks run. My vehicles are a 1991 Saturn, 1991 I6 5Spd F150, 1997 Passat TDI, 1994 F350 IDI turbo diesel. The F150 is shot the Saturn has 260kmiles on it. Looking to replace the F150 and Saturn with a 'bridge' vehicle like the TR40. Back to diesels. I cut my lawn with a Deutz allis diesel tractor and I have a JD 790 tractor with loader and backhoe to maintain my property. At work, I monitor running 16 cylinder cooper bessemer diesel generators that put out 4 MW electrical to the grid. Chug, chug, Chug and Loud, Loud, Loud.............Talk up your ride....John Last edited by topgut; 02-28-2010 at 05:56 PM. |
