I am wondering if they grossly underestimated how hard it would be to get a truck never engineered for the US market certified or if they are just trying to scam investors and dealers and have no serious intention of ever bringing the truck here.
Comparing the potential money to be made by having product to sell and the limited money made selling dealerships, GV isn't likely the problem. It is likely either the product (TR20 or TR40) or the manufacturer (Mahindra).

As we've seen all along. The lights are on but nobody's home. It was a great idea, just the wrong manufacturer and distributer.

The news is really disheartening. I just printed out the Suzuki Equator brochure. I figure it would cost me about $300-500 extra in fuel. But they do have the 100,000 mile warranty. I can't go out this Saturday and you can't shop for cars on Sunday in NJ but next Saturday I'm going out looking . GV/Mahindra is going to have to come out fast with some kind of information.

Are you listening, Anand, Pawan, John, Ann, Michael, Dan, Max, Rusty, Monmany?

I haven't heard anything about making the next model a unibody construction pickup truck, that doesn't make sense with their target customers
The next Scorpio is stated to be unibody, if they base the next pickup on that platform like they did the current trucks, they will be unibody. They might only have a 1500 lb payload but that would compare to similar gas trucks currently offered. I hope that doesn't happen since I had hoped to buy the Heavy Duty version.

What a shocker. I feel badly for all of the dealers out there. Hopefully GV will send them a statement regarding this article. Disheartening is an understatement. I think they will miss the boat if they don't get product over here this year.

This is such a shame, I would hope it is not true, but it probably is. Looks like I won't be buying a vehicle for awhile.

I was suprised investors would poney up money for a guy with questionable success let alone the scary economic climate. Makes sense that they'd still be trying to suck in Mahindra dealer franchises. Cha-ching and then bankruptcy.

Your mom used to hit you a lot, didn't she Dick?

Anyway... I reckon we'll see what happens. I've been planning a move in April/May timeframe. If we're no closer to an answer, There are certainly other options...
