Somebody at Mahindra seems to be confusing transparency with smoke screens. Leave it to the lawyer types to try to hide the truth by diversion; that's a tactic most people give up on when they're five or six years old and it doesn't wash with the parents, but a few people turn it into a pretty decent living.
They should have just kept their mouths shut over a M&M until it was time to announce that trucks will be coming out of Alabama, because now it looks like they confirmed the report.

That press release oozes panic to me when I read it. Not to mention how poorly conceived and executed it is. I would expect better out of a multi-billion dollar international company responding to a post on a small time blog. Between the responses from them and Navistar, I am pretty well certain that this is all in process.

By this getting out, do you suppose they may be in violation of their arbitration agreement with GV? This would explain why such a hastily worded press release went out.

Looks like Mahindra fixed their spelling error in the press release. It now actually says TR20 and TR40

December 17, 2011, Mumbai: “There have been reports in certain quarters of media and online space stating that Navistar USA will produce Mahindra's TR20 and TR40 pick ups in Alabama, USA in 2012, which are completely baseless & incorrect. If & when there are any material developments, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited will communicate them directly and transparently”
