Smile Works for Me

I will be returning to a smaller truck but have no set time when i will do so. Since I can wait, this is great news for me. I had planned on buying a Mahindra but when they didn't arrive, I bought a Silverado. Even if Mahindra does arrive, they will have some serious competition. Competition that has a known dealership network etc.

Yeah,I bought a Silverado too.In 07 I made the mistake of buying a chevy colorado Z71.The only good thing about that truck was the Eaton G-80 locker.I'm an old fart and have been buying vehicles since I was 16.Having said that:the colorado was the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned.....bar none. From the $hit ecotek 4 banger to the **** 5 spd tranny, would go into 4-hi while going down I-5 at close to 70mph,the brakes (all 4) would lock up overnight and had to be brought back to the dealership on a roll back....several times. And the last straw was after a hard rain here, the interior was soaking wet, with standing water in the driver and passenger footwells.Oh yeah, the NEW battery would go dead over night.I had less the 3k miles on it when I got rid of it.I hope that GM's next mid-size truck is better built then the last one. They know it too.

they were certainly flops compared to the S-10 models.

since the engineering was done around 2007 & 2008 for this new model I am not overly confident what has been done. Maybe the 2 year delay between initial release in the world market and the US will allow GM to analyze the structure and engineering to make sure this is a sound vehicle. It may take another product life cycle to get through the "issues." At 7 years between models this would be one hell of a wait.

I've had 2 new Chevy's and they were both junk. 1st one I got rid of with 20,000 miles and the second with less than 8,000 on it. The S-10 was one of the best auto's they ever made..

My '84 was absolute garbage. Purchased brand new. Stalling, brake issues, then something happened with the frame and the bedun-aligned itself from the cab (this was a 2wd shortbed with no off-road miles).
Traded it after maybe 13 months...

Congrats. Ya beat a 3.0 Ranger... AKA - The 3.Slow. Might wanna get a few miles on the truck before braggin too hard about it being a 'heck of a truck'.

S10's were crap built from crap. Too cheaply built by chevy. My mother owned one back in the 90's and I swear Ive never done so much work on a vehicle with what I consider low miles. Ive never sold a Ford with under 200k miles, and Ive never had a Cheby make it yet.

Our parts store fleet consists of 20 S10 trucks, 1999-2003 models. We've got six of them over 300,000 miles, two of them over 400,000 miles. The top mileage champ is at 489,000 and counting, to the tune of about 900 miles a week. Poorly made, I don't think so. We finally gave up on the Rangers when our last one (a 2001) ate up three ring and pinion assemblies in its first 100,000 miles. Your experience may differ, but I just call 'em the way I see 'em.
