Default Mahindra Update 11-2-10

Register to stop seeing this ad!

I emailed John Perez and asked him for an update on Mahindra. He said that the next hearing is on November 15th, but that they don't expect anything to come of it. He doesn't expect anything out of the hearing till later next year.

The dealers in all states are coming forward and starting to assist Global Vehicles in filing grievances in all 50 States, since the state laws protect the distributor and the dealers. So GV and the Dealers are taking the fight to both the national and state levels. Global Vehicles says they are committed to protecting the dealers investments.

John says they have the best 347 dealers that any manufacturer trying to enter the US could wish for, and a distributor that is completely dedicated to launching the brand.

The consumer, the dealers, the distribution and guys like Chris at MahindraPlanet are all being jerked around by Mahindra.

Mahindra has 30,000 people on GV's website ready to test drive the vehicle, and a distribution of 347 dealers all across the states ready to sell this thing. What more could Mahindra want?

Mahindra, if you are listening, we want your truck here, like yesterday.

Andy

I think Mahindra wanted an escape goat (GV) just in case the sales of this truck failed, then they saw 347 dealer lined up and over 20,000 signed up for a test drive. So now M&M is wanting to cut out the middle man (GV). It's all about profit. Just think how fast they will ditch you and their guarantee if this truck doesn't hold up well ?????

Well they should see soon that if they want to do Biz in the states they will have to deal with the courts first. They better start hiring lawyers in all 50 states soon, or work with GV quick

Great update Andy, as always! Jeez, this isn't going to end well and think of all the employees of those dealers counting on more to sell and service. Holidays coming and all... Damn shame...

I've been watching the Mahindra story for about a year now. All I can say is what a mess. But here's the thing...

John Perez continues to publicly deride the very company whose trucks he wishes to import. But without Mahindra, he is dead in the water with no product to sell.

Mahindra has an approved truck it wishes to sell in the U.S., but no distribution or dealer network set up. John Perez has already done all the leg work, and he knows the market.

So Mahindra needs John Perez, and John Perez needs Mahindra. What this amounts to is a big pi**ing contest. It's so stupid it boggles the imagination.

What the dealers need to do is appoint a consortium of representatives to go to John Perez, and tell him, "We're taking you with us to Mahindra, and together we're all going to sit down and work this out. Who gives a hoot about the contract."

Seriously, it can't be this hard. Presumably they're all adults here.

Just work it out, and start selling trucks! Then everything will be forgotten and everyone will be happy.

Just my $0.02.

I am sure it will take a judge to settle this ultimately.
