I'm not sure if I can legitimately appropriate Blue's "bla bla bla" here, so I'll just say this is interesting but inconclusive. I do think the quickest way for Mahindra to get trucks to market would be to work with GV, and therefore in both the long run and short run they stand to make more money that way. Let's hope the next press release is about Mahindra getting the shipment ready to send.

Interesting article. Now,will mahindra accept the order? If they do then it would look like GV is still in despite the "two sentence article".Will fast distribution and sales sway m&m into delivering on time............for once? Stay tuned sports fans as this is gonna get real interesting real fast.

It sure seems like there's a lot of legal and political maneuvering going on here. What a strange way to do business.

Something about this reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George quit his job & stormed out of the office on Friday and had second thoughts about it later. Jerry convinced him to walk back in on Monday as if nothing had happened and to claim he was just kidding if anyone asked him about it.

"Lawsuit? What lawsuit? Ohhh, that. You didn't think we were serious, did you?" ;-)

Did any of you read the Mahindra announcement from Wednesday? They make it sound that GV knew of the dealine becuase they had asked to have extensions on it in previous occasions and then would not extend it when the time came.

Maybe GV is holding the dealer network hostage for some large amount of money that Mahindra would have to pay (ie buy out GV) becuase they know the trucks will be a flop or something to that extent.

I am sure both sides have their reasonings but Mr. Perez's track record in the automotive business is piss poor versus Mahindra's 60+ years.

Maybe I was sleeping through this part of math class .
Maybe my calculator is jackedup.
But I've taken $35,000,000 and divided by 30,000 and I get $1166.67 per truck.
What am I missing?

$35,000,000 is the initial order not an order for 30k units! You'd be foolish to preorder a projected years worth when coming into a new market! Projections are only that, projections.

More good stuff over at Jalopnik and PickupTrucks.com. Global Vehicles Bitch-Slaps Mahindra... With A $35 Million Pickup Truck Order?!

Levine truly broke the story yesterday, but the press release wasn't out until this morning. Global Vehicles USA to Attempt $35 Million Order for Mahindra Pickups - PickupTrucks.com News

Also, it is worth reading the lawsuit again. GV had made several attempts to order these trucks and Mahindra would always return an excuse instead of trucks: This Is The Lawsuit Attempting To Bring Indian Diesel Pickups To America

Mahindra's statement from Wednesday says nothing new, other than alluding to possible retaliation against GV for hurting Mahindra's reputation. Mahindra also admits that their motion to have the District Court case dismissed failed. Therefore the court believes there is legitimate reason to move forward, and Mahindra will have to argue their case on US soil.

Like I said earlier,if m&m accepts the deal,GV is back in,if not, they look like a fresh steaming pile to the judge.Either way this sure is fun to watch unfold.
