Maybe M&M Thought that they could get the lawsuit dismissed just by issuing a press release.

Isn't that a Legal Document in their eyes?

As explained in Mahindra's pleadings of 28th June 2010, GV's claims are groundless because its agreement with Mahindra automatically expired on June 11, 2010.

If the above is true sounds like GV has nothing.

I don't understand what agreement feature expired June 11. I had read earlier that the contract signed by both GV and Mahindra back in 2006 gave GV exclusive distributor rights for 10 years. That certainly hasn't expired, so what is going on? I hate to say it, but it is looking more and more like the vehicles may not be imported after all.

I think your right, or at least not til the next generation. I still lurk her but I have doubt about even wanting one at this point, I don't trust them... I am looking forward to checking out the new Ford 3.7 liter . The 3.7 sounds like what the Ranger and the Sport Trac needs..

I could be wrong, but the way I understand it is the dealers have a contract with GV, not Mahindra (since GV collected their cash and arranged the infrastructure). If that is the case and Mahindra has killed their contract with GV, Mahindra has no direct contract with any of the dealers expecting to carry Mahindra vehicles. Also what about the ten year agreement?

Again, I do not know any of this for certain. But, there is the potential for Mahindra to ignore GV and the dealers GV lined up, and find their own (tractor?) dealers. Or they can wise up, fix things with GV, and get those trucks here. I think we are going to see this all play out in the very near future.

Early on the whole "GV" thing sounded fishy to me. They had tried and failed to create a market for then import another brand pu as I recall.

If the agreement expired then it expired.

I don't think GV had the experience and size to meet M&M's expectations and M&M figured it out.

I do feel sorry for the dealers who bought smoke

Just my two cents.

Joe

But if the contracts with the dealers were based on a contract with M&M I would think GV could recoup the losses (after they pay back the dealers) from M&M in court? I don't blame GV for this one, just M&M's arrogance, MAJOR ARROGANCE!!
