I'm sorry but GV had to see this coming. Drag a corporation the size of Mahindra into court and you'd better have deep pockets. I guess GV would rather see Mahindra send flawed vehicles over here. Mahindra tried to negotiate low prices for stuff it was contracting. If GM and Chrysler had thought of that, they might not have had to go to the Gov't trough.

Cross Lander U.S.A. plans to sell Cross Lander vehicles in the U.S. by the first quarter of 2003 through 50 selected automotive dealers. Allocation for the United States is over 6,000 vehicles the first year. Cross Lander U.S.A. is currently appointing exclusive qualified dealers to sell the Cross Lander throughout the East, Southeast and the Mid-West.

Oops, I did it again.

Cross Lander officials have built a U.S. dealer network that now consists of 148 U.S. dealers. The company did not officially announce a target on-sale date for the U.S. market; however company President Bill Goetze hinted that an official announcement will be made soon.

"It has been a long road to get to this point. From successfully reaching a privatization agreement to acquire the manufacturing facility in Romania, building our vast dealer network, to receiving U.S. EPA certification, and every step in between, we are pushing closer and closer to the vehicle's U.S. debut," said Goetze. "We are not going to set a date for delivery just yet, but I will say an announcement on the matter will be made very soon."

Soon, very soon........

I think the Crosslander posts were comparing that debacle to this one. If I have to pick somebody to trust in this deal would it be GV, who has accomplished nothing, or a proven multi-national multi-billion dollar producing corporations like Mahindra.......

? So the bigger the corporation the more trustworthy they are? The less likely to have a hidden agenda? As for what they have accomplished, if you are looking at what has been done to get this truck launched here it looks like GV has done a good bit. All they need are some trucks, except M & M isn't working to get trucks to them.
Anyway, trust isn't something to be tossed around too freely in the business world, I don't trust any of them.

Phoenix Motorcars still not dead, will present "newly configured" electric truck at FedFleet — Autoblog Green

I never thought I'd see this come out before the Mahindra. Maybe I'll have to get one of these instead.
