I am not sure how many times something can be promised and not delivered before trust is lost. I am sure it is different with different people. For me, Mahindra has lost my trust. I do think GV has been putting in substantial effort to get a truck here. Mahindra may have lost money on each truck imported but GV would have made money. It is easier to trust someone that has something to gain.

GV is the reincarnation of CrossLander aka John Perez. That what I thought was so ironic,
"We are not going to set a date for delivery just yet, but I will say an announcement on the matter will be made very soon."

And now when Mahindra does it, they are the bad guys. Perez worked for 5 years to get ARO here and was unsuccessful. Yes, either there's a glitch in the Matrix, or perhaps in GV's methodology.

I enjoy the website, Andy's done a great job, and there are some great people here. GV and Mahindra, on the other hand, are getting old.....

All they need are some trucks, except M & M isn't working to get trucks to them.
Anyway, trust isn't something to be tossed around too freely in the business world, I don't trust any of them.
Trust may have been a poorly chosen word. The point I was trying to make is what has GV accomplished? Getting money out of potential dealers for potential vehicles that have not shown up.

Mahindra has a track record of producing and selling all types of vehicles worldwide.

I'm just sayin'.......

I agree that m&m has a global track record.....but not by themselves. They have to rely on a dealer network not owned by m&m,enter GV who put the infrastructure in place. The avenue by which m&m can get their product to the american market....yes?It seems to me GV did their job.......just isn't any product to sell....as promised by m&m.Hence the lawsuit.IMHO Perez has been busting his a$$ to deliver vehicles to the dealer network he put together.m&m has defaulted on their part to deliver said product.

The Crosslander deal had to be a lesson-learned for all involved. Perez is taking a second stab at risking not only personal loss and embarrassment, but risking the livelihood of his employees and dealers. If it all goes wrong, who is the first person (or company) getting blamed? GV wears the bull’s-eye. Are they perfect? Nope. Are they hanging their asses out for a second time? Yep. Would I have the balls to create an automotive business from nothing after failing miserably the first time? Hell no. I wouldn’t have even tried the first time.

M&M have the resources to put together nearly anything they want, and to make it happen in short order. They plan to build and fly airplanes in India in three years. There is a reason why they aren’t moving forward now, but they refuse to reveal it for reasons only they understand. Why does this seem to be the only aspect of their global business that experiences such high profile delays and demands so much secrecy? Who knows?

My positive thought for the day is that everyone involved (including us) wants to see this become a success story in the end. Let’s hope it does.

I agree with what you say.Perez is the one people will try to fault IF this doesn't come together......and it ain't his (GV) fault.M&M is a multi-national conglomerate capable of doing pretty much anything they put their minds too.Why the delay and ensuing silence is anybodies guess at this point.Would I like to see both GV and m&m succeed? Yes indeed I would. The tr40 would suit me damn near perfectly.

If they, for whatever reason, delay too long, other outfits will beat them to the punch. If they read this then listen up M&M:make this happen without further delays if you want the lions share of a BIG market for those trucks.Wait too long and you'll end up competing against the big guns.Brand is everything,it's time to show yours.

Perez has one failed deal and potentially another......I bet he lives in a nicer house than I do...Whose money is paying for that? He has spent millions of dollars on this deal. Was it his or was it dealer franchise fees? As much as I would like to see the truck, I don't think either of the players can be trusted at this point--IMHO....
