Though I believe the future is in nuclear*, the only unsolved problem with coal is CO2. Even that has potential solutions if the fake environmentalists would stop stopping research on it. I would much rather pay 50% more for super safe coal than many times more for renewable sources.
* - If the French can build super safe reactors, so can we. I asked my brother, who used to design nuclear power palnts, what happened with three mile island, and he started off by saying, "It's a Babock and Wilcox reactor, which is an inferior design..." I asked why they would build a reactor like that. He said it was cheaper. BTW - The French designs completely blows the doors off our best built reactors.
