I saw that too. I seem to remember the concept truck from a few years ago too. Kind of a neat idea, not unlike the H3 SUT.

I actually need more of a standard type of truck but I am sure this would fit the bill for a number of outdoors-y people. If it could haul a pair of dirt bikes into Moab it would be a hit!

If I remember, the Gladiator concept was a diesel, and it had something like a bed that would extend from inside that cab. But can't remember what it was. Great looking rig, that's for sure.

Your right,it is a diesel, with around 349 ft.lbs.of torque. That will be mated to the new Chrysler 6 sp auto. That is my idea of a near perfect vehicle for my needs.I had a 06 Libby with the 2.8L crd and it is a very strong and economical engine.perfect for the Jeeps,IMHO.

If they put a diesel in that, I'm all over it. I do remember the concept truck from several years ago. A stepside with the spare on the side of the bed- just like Dad had!

Since the Wrangler is supposed to have a diesel option this fall (fiat i would assume) and Chrysler is supposed to take the wraps off the Pentastar 3.6L v6 as well, I would think these would be good options along with a 6 speed automatic.

Jeep (fiat) is staying with the tried and true updated 2.8L VM Motori CRD.AND...I miss spoke,I believe the auto trans might be the 8 sp they recently announced.Wow.....that would be very cool indeed.

Whoa! As soon as this fall? I hadn't heard anything about that! Anyone have any more info? What models will be involved (i.e. will the 4-door have that option)?

However, that Jeep pickup would be worth waiting for if it arrives with a CRD!
