You are a huge international company ($6 billion). You have engineering, manufacturing, and business resources like nobody’s business. You just bought an electric car company and are pursuing a Korean car company. You have the potential to create and own a niche in the US auto market. You claim that business in the United States is a key to your future. Why don’t you focus a fraction of that time, money, and effort on generating positive buzz and establishing your presence in the US?
Seriously, why can’t they get that truck together and start selling them here? I absolutely think Mahindra is a great company and I hate to say it, but I am beginning to wonder if they have serious concerns about some element of that truck. What other reason can there be? Mahindra: Please feel free to answer at any time. You don’t even need to raise your hand, just blurt it out.

It could very well be a cultural thing that we aren't getting. I would suppose that in India the regular joe's aren't bombarded by information 24 hours a day as we are here. Maybe Mahindra is not making any more announcements until they are darned good and ready.
I would rather this truck be done right than hurried. If they are wanting to sell 45,000 trucks a year the few hundred that have their panties in a wad on this site won't be a blip on their radar. |

It might be sour grapes for a couple of years but Americans forget things really fast if the product is what they want. Look at sports stars, we don't really care after 6 months if they assaulted some poor girl so long as they win a championship. In 5 years this will all be water under the bridge and we'll likely talk about how much better the second gen trucks are compared to anything else on the market, etc, etc. |

I hope you guys are right. Maybe the delays are due to Mahindra making further improvements in the engineering or production of the trucks. Maybe their culture prevents them from issuing a statement that says: ‘We are delaying the US launch of Mahindra pickups to make further improvements in order to provide the best product possible for our anxious American customers.’ Seems like it would be a lot easier to make that statement, rather than delay EPA paperwork which needs to be done no matter what.
I suspect that parts shortages are not helping either. Maybe this is the problem (pop up warning): Supply shortage hits Indian auto ind's output by 5-7 pc-Automobiles-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times I too, have no doubt that all the controversy will wash away once they get here with a great product. Despite my snarky commentary, I really do hope that Mahindra puts it all together and blows us away in December… if not for my personal satisfaction, then for all of these dealers who really deserve a winning product.

I suppose if they said they were delaying in order to make improvements (and there was also suggestion that some of the delay was caused by price haggling over the product testing) that would be admitting they were the source of the delays; they keep saying- like a broken record- that the delays are due to all the changes prompted by others.
