Dick You know what would be nice. If they could show up for U.S.A. day the fourth of July. that would be awesome. and great publicity for the American pickup.

I just want them to show up period end of story. Sound like we'll be waiting until September but that also means we should be seeing some advertising starting to come put as well.

Great pic! Does it look to anyone else like that catalytic converter run on the outside of the frame rail?

Looks like a cat to me about 2 inches from the door. I bet that ours will be in a different spot due to the extra emissions controls

The cold hard truth is that Mahindra blew it. I've been interested in Mahindra trucks for about 3-4 years now. Mostly because I figured the truck was going to be cheap and no-nonsense. I sort of like the funky, ugly design. I was really interested in the diesel engine.

But... from what I've heard the truck is going to be $22k?! That and the diesel engine will get only 30MPG?

Ok... so now its a really ugly truck with a price that's pretty much up there with Toyota, Nissan, Ford, and Chevy. Sure- its different. But if I'm going to buy an untested brand then it had better be cheap and offer something extraordinary.

If I were Mahindra I would sell the first Indian-Made trucks at a loss. That price needs to be low. $12-$15k max. Later when a US factory is utilized and the "chicken tax" can be avoided, then you could still sell them cheaper and still make a profit.

All I can say is that if Mahindra enters the market with this truck at $22,000 nobody is going to buy it. Period. Like I said- I've been interested in this truck for years. But if its really going to set me back over $20,000 then you can forget it.

Bob, all trucks now are at or over $20k with nowhere near the mileage of these trucks. I know there have been some killer deals on loaded half tons over the past year or so but still mid $20's is on par for the industry or maybe a little below average price wise. I don't think its an unreasonable amount after you figure in the 50% increase in mileage and the longgevity built into the trucks.

I'd like to see a vehicle priced at $12k that isn't a Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent or Nissan Versa. No truck is sold at the price except MAYBE a bare bones base model Ranger that is a 2009 model still on the lot with no towing or payload capacity what so ever.

ok but you are getting 18-19 highway, no power windows, locks etc. to get to the base Mahindra one must have either the base LS package or some other electricis package added in. I still think the Mahindra will have the cheaper operating costs and resale value. All things to consider.

Not knocking the chevy just food for thought. On a side note I did see a 2003 2500HD Chevy with no power windows, locks, etc on Craigslist here in Boise. It only has 33k miles on it (old retired guy going to the Albertsons once a week) for only $10k. That is tempting other than the gas hog 6.0 and the now power anything. Wife won't like that.
