Not sure but whatever the answer is I'm more interested in the news that Mahindra is ready to apply for EPA approval. Surely that must be a sign that the company is in the midst of taking decisive steps towards a US launch. I'm hoping this happens in the near future because I'm currently in a bit of a dilemma - on the one hand I've grown a little tired of all the delays but on the other I need to wait because there is nothing on the market currently that is a suitable alternative to the TR20 and TR40. A compact diesel does not exist currently here.

I'm encouraged by the left hand drive sticker...however, I for one would want to have tie down cleats on my truck. Very practical and sturdy compared to today's sliding plastic ones.

The tie down cleats are definitely function before form, they were there because they work well. I plan to put a fiberglass cap on my truck, so those hooks weren't going to help me, though. What I want to know is what have they done in place of the hooks/cleats to provide for securing the load. My '93 Nissan has a hook in each corner of the bed, about a foot up; it works okay, but it's not an ideal situation. I agree sliding plastic doesn't sound very sturdy, hopefully they've worked out a good system, too bad nobody's talking.

I think Mahindra is trying way to hard to "Americanize" this truck, I want solid axles, leaf springs, manual transmission, bed hooks and a few creature comforts like A/C and cruise crontrol. I hope they plan to bring an manual tranny over in the next year or two.

That's me too, if they would just build a good simple truck...manual tranny and hubs, solid axles with leaf springs. maybe cruise and a/c.. Looks like they have added traction control for the American market. Traction control will get you killed in snow.. Oh, and I want the bed hooks....
