You guys are gonna have to turn off the auto sign up option and start manually approving members.

Remember, this site is going to get pretty fair sized once those trucks take hold and decide to stick.

Manually approving members kills a forum's growth. People that register usually like to be approved then and there, otherwise many wont come back.

There are a few other things I can probably do, but overall, this forum is active enough that it gets very little spam.

I'll implement a few more filtering options to slow them down a bit. Otherwise, we kill them pretty quickly.

Meh... That makes as much sense as anything.

My filters are based on keywords, phrases, and known offending IP address blocs. When a spammer shows up at my door, it's as if they stepped inside a cage full of hungry sharks. Needless to say, it's quite amusing watching them work on Statcounter, going from post to post, leaving spam comments and when I go into admin, they're all killed, good and dead.
