Just got a load of photos back from the factory. I will sort them out (resize them) and post later. Maybe 2morrow... tied up 2night.

I really want a flat bed with tailgate and both sides that fold down for easy access. That looks great by the way.

we have a 6'8" long version that replaces a 6' bed, but it will hang way out over your hitch if you put that on in place of a 5' bed.

Default Ute-bed

Dear ute-man, thanks for further wetting my apetite; wouldn't the US spec. require a bumper on the bed? My plan is to buy a TR40 for a daily driver and weekend warrioring. Hauling firewood, lumber, appliances, etc to finish my Adirondack home are some of my needed tasks. Hope the dealer in NJ gets your number and hope this year is finally one with an M&M release date.

I can see a lot of businesses wanting a TR20 with one of these beds on them. I sincerely hope Mahindra is thinking of the smaller commercial market here like they have done in other markets so businesses have other options than 3/4 ton trucks on up.

The Federal requirement applies to trucks with the deck more than 30 inches off the ground I believe. I will have to dig out the book on that number. In such a case that it is higher than this, then you have to have something under there to keep the Honda's out from under you. It needs to be within 18'' of the sides and the rear. Usually we pull the rear bumpers on our smaller trucks and just leave the receiver hitch. The factory bumper can be left in place with the Ute Bed though. It is a matter of preference for the most part. Federal regulations on bumpers these days is pretty laxed anyway. Bumpers are required to protect a vehicle from impacts of 3 mph from the front or rear and 1.5 mph from the corners.
Cheers,

Here's a couple of shots of a crew cab short bed on a Nissan. This is the same Ute Bed that would fit the Mahindra 4 door.
