I can relate believe me. Last spring I ordered the Mahindra Wall for the showroom (each dealer will have a wall with a Flat screen teaching of the History of Mahindra). Anywho, I saw some pictures at that time of the TR20 and TR40 (but they werent called that then). It was the early pictures similar to the ones overseas now. At that time I has told that the trucks needed to be a little....... Americanized lets say. The pictures from the factory showed aftermarket radios, like it went to the local sounds shop after being built. They didnt even have cup holders last spring. In fact I spoke with the man who sent over 300 different cups, including juice bags, so they could design them. Apparently, in India they don't drink while driving. They actually thought the big gulp was a joke! They have stressed to me at every meeting the imporance of quality and that the truck would not be sent until it was right. The new grille, headlights, factory installed looking radio (with lots of features), and even the cup holders had to be done and now they have been. 2000 trucks are being shipped out within weeks if not already in motion. Each dealer was offered 40 for the 1st quarterly order (20% tr20 80% tr40). All dealers were given the same option but remember they were originally going to hit in December. The traditionally slowest time of the year. So some dealers ordered less then the limit. I ordered all they would let me and asked for more but was denied
and by the way I dont know how much they cost exactly, but I know I have 40 coming So EXCITED more I could not be and I'm VERY IMPATIENT. I truely believe 2-? months from now a lot of us will be saying "it was worth the wait!" - Sorry to ramble

The 20% 80% was the limit for the 1st order. That translates to 8 TR20s and 32 TR40s for the first 3 months. I'm thinking the 2nd order might be a little more open. You've got a point though the TR20 will be a little limited at first. As soon as I get information on restrictions for 2nd order I'll post it.

So, how do you feel about Edmunds suggesting Winter of 2010 !?
and why is Mehindra so bad in communicating with everyone one?? Is it normal? Maybe that's how all car factories do... |
