We still don't know who the dealers in Georgia will be, let's hope they have time to train the salespeople. When I bought my Nissan, I knew far more about the truck than the sales weasel did- I should have ditched him but it turned out all right. I was talking to the Ford people last week and mentioned the news of the Ranger not being renewed- he flat out said that is not true, hadn't heard anything about that. He is expecting a 4cyl ecoboost engine to be offered in it eventually. I bet two or three years from now the situation will be brighter for those of us wanting small but tough pickups, five to eight years and maybe thing will be where they should be. I can get the Ranger with the seven foot bed, but 4wd only comes with the big cab, and the base engine is kind of anemic. I'm still searching for my fallback truck in case the big M doesn't pan out, for me some version of the Ranger will probably be it.

Default Charlie

Hi Guys, I've also been waiting for a small diesel pu. I operate a small rural water system here on the La. side of Toledo bend lake. A couple of questions on the T20, is traction control the same as limited slip diff? With 4x4, can you get lock out hubs? Any dealers in NW La.(Shreveport)? Any info on where and how to get normal maintainence stuff (filters etc.)?
thanks for any info

Default finding a dealer...

I found out that Dick Smith Ford in Raytown (Kansas City) MO will be a dealer by doing this:

Find the dealer map at the mahindra website:

Mahindra Clean Diesel Pickup Trucks and SUVs

Note the ZIP Code and do a search for car dealers in that ZIP Code.

Drive by the most likely places and ask.

Oddly enough, it turned out that the Raytown Ford dealer will be selling Mahindra as opposed to the two MASSIVE Chrysler dealers that were closed down. I suspect that this is the case because Ford dealers get a lot of enquiries from potential customers that have heard rumors of a smaller V6 diesel for the F-Series or a Diesel Version of the Ranger being offered.

I also did an Internet search for Mathindra truck dealers (sorry, I don't remember the search string or the search engine...) and came across a FORD dealer in rural Iowa north of Des Moines! A chat with the manager on the telephone confirmed my beliefs that buyers that have been interested in a smaller diesel engine/truck for a long time felt that their best chance at getting one would be though a Ford dealer.

Something to think about...

Yeah. My closest dealer is a Ford/Mazda dealer (That's the dealer that's saying September.) and the other one I know about was a Chrysler dealer. Both in Jersey.

Default serious??

Sure seems to me, if these folks were really serious about getting into what should be a good market, they would be more forthcoming with news and information. At least to keep interest up
