I'm a new member as of this morning, current Honda Ridgeline owner, I received an e-mail from the local dealer for these trucks stating they are getting the dealership ready for receipt of vehicles. I'm very curious about how this truck will perform, but did see a note on the Ridgeline web site saying EPA gave it a 17/22 highway rating? Anyone know if this is true and if so, how is it so low?

the EPA just rated the TR40 (4x4 and 4 doors) at 19 city 21 highway. All of us are assuming that the poor aerodynamics and likely 4.10 gears are the culprit for the poor ratings.

I just talked to a guy at Honda and he said it is official the Ridgeline will continue... I have also been told the Tacoma redesign for 2012 is off for a few more years due to the earthquake..

I knew the Ridgline was going to continue although they may tweak its capabilities (don't know if that means more hauling and towing or less)

They aren't bad for light duty stuff considering they are based off the Oddessy minivan chassis.

I keep reading about new tech that will allow for unibody constructed vehicles to have more load and towing capabilities, this may be where Honda is headed and possibly even the Dakota.

the next 3-5 years is really going to change the entire auto industry that's for sure. should be some really exciting prodcuts coming along. Heck the NYC auto showing going on now has had a slew of new cars displayed. although as slow as my Prius I am liking the new 2012 impreza (although they were only mildly evolutionary in the engine tech)

A little less towing & hauling capabilities would be fine if traded for more mpg . If you need to haul a huge trailer get a 1/2 or 3/4 ton , the Ridgeline is only a mid-sized truck ..
