3 below jmac? 13 here. (so not as cold but just cause I went out and fired up Blue. 150k miles, forgot to plug him in last night, pretty sure I have an injector going out (getting "the hammer", which is a sure sign on these older trucks), Rotella 10w-30, and he fired up same as always...)
I think it's going to be colder tomorrow morning, but I'm pugging him in, gotta get to work...

cheers,

Yes 3 below, this morning 7 below.Plugged in last night and I cant belive how warm the truck gets, lifting the hood to unplug the heater I could feel the warmth collected under the hood. There was even some defrosting (very slightly)to the windshield and hood.So Blue has no trouble starting in the cold?

No, no issues. The plug is behind the bumper so I just whip it out (so to speak) and plug it in. I have a 50 amp cord to a heavy duty timer in the garage. The timer turns on the juice for 4 hours (3 to 7 am). Unless I have like, 4 inches on the hood, I will also see some melting.
I plug in if it drops below 20 degrees. Blue always starts, although he does smoke a bit first minute or so occasionally...
3 here this morning, no problem starting (plugged in of course) it definitely smoked a bit...

I use Amsoil in all my vehicles, gas and diesel engines and have used it for almost ten years. Really love the stuff.
