Register to stop seeing this ad! How serious can Mahindra and GV be if, during the year they are supposed to be introducing a new vehicle into the U.S. market, they skip the largest auto show in the country? How in the world could they have skipped the Detroit Auto Show? GV is so quiet, it makes one wonder what they are really up to. The last company that tried to sneak a product into the market was Yugo. Remember how that went?I am beginning to believe that GV is totally out of touch with how to market a product or the Mahindra truck is a piece of junk like the Yugo was and they are afraid to show it. To the GV reps reading this forum, silence is not good. Never has been and never will be. If you need a truck, wait no longer. I got sukced in and missed the CFC deals on GV's mis-information. Too many other great trucks out there to be had at bargain prices and established dealers. I own a Mahindra Tractor and it is the best. My tractor dealer talks to me and they are at all the farm shows. Something is wrong with GV. |

GV’s lack of communication with potential customers and their own dealers is, well… flawed. That’s well documented on this forum.
I cannot put words in their mouths, nor can I completely defend how they operate, but I don’t think GV/Mahindra’s lack of participation at NAIAS is a big deal. A missed opportunity maybe, but not something that will kill them or further damage their reputation. Look at how many established manufacturers missed the show last year after the bottom dropped out of the industry. Besides, if participating in NAIAS is a sign of brand validity, then explain the Chinese Dong Car that was shown this year (follow this link, laugh, read the comments, laugh harder): Chinese Unveil Electric Dong Car Covered In Bush - 2010 Detroit Auto Show - Jalopnik I think you have explained it well yourself. Their tractors are well made, a good value, and a known quantity in the US. I don’t think we will see anything less than this in the trucks. I also think (and hope) that once these trucks are on showroom floors most of us will forget about how squirrelly GV was at the start. Just like your tractor story, the dealers will pick up the slack.

Comaparing the Chinese car to Mahindra's entry is redicuous. If Mahnidra has a quality product and wants to gain a market share they should have shown up at the show. Last year Ford introduced it's new successful products and had what could be considered extraordinary results.
Key point here is that GV is not acting like they are serious about intorucing a new, quaility vehicle into the U.S. market. They are silent, and they are not following up on promises. For instance, where is the test drive plan they are advertising? Those people wasted their time signing up for a preview test drive. Successful companies communicate successfully. GV does not communicate successfully.

Hell, I've be riding their asses like they have grab handles installed, and still get nothing from these clowns.
Like I've said before, I can't wait to have a problem with my truck and see how quickly they respond, from a help desk in Roundrock, Texas, next to Dell's HQ. And yeah Dell Computer, that was a direct shot at you and your non-help desk. |
