No, Mahindra Planet, MahindraPlanet (MahindraPlanet) on Twitter has a twitter account which Anand Mahindra, anand mahindra (anandmahindra) on Twitter head of the Mahindra company follows.

He only follows 22 people so that puts Mahindra Planet right up there with Barack a Oprah.

I was kinda hoping that he also followed this forum and saw the discussions that we have.

Default . . . we'd all have wings.

I don't know how it looks to everyone else, but I think the whole "test drive" hoopla/campaign fizzled or was a fabrication. To me, at this late date if they don't have any news out already to the contrary, there will be no Mahindra sponsored test drives to introduce their new truck to America. Signing up at their site was total b.s., intended only to gauge interest in the vehicles. I even agreed to receive news items from them to my e-mail, and have received nothing since I signed up last spring. Wait until your local dealer has bought and received his inventory and they will offer a test drive at their expense. Why anyone should be surprised, I don't know- but it looks like we have been lied to by corporate sales weasels. Should that cast a whiff of doubt on everything we have heard? The vehicle sales methods in this country had gradually been rising from "Persian market" tactics to something a bit more civil, but it looks like we're dealing with more of the same old, at least from the upper levels. If Ford or Toyota were offering a similar truck, I wouldn't even consider buying from the big M- but then, if wishes were fishes . . .

pee wee, I wouldn't write them off yet. I kind of figured from the start that the test drive list would trickle down and be delegated to individual dealers. We'll see what happens when the trucks hit the ground.

It's a shame that Mahindra/Global doesn't communicate more directly with interested parties, but we've all established that it isn't how they roll. Their loss.

I find that Anand Mahindra isn't on Twitter all that often, but I suspect that GV and Mahindra monitor this site for sure... lets hope so anyway!

Default hmmmmm

I figure that getting the trucks passed by all our governmental agencies is where the issues are with the release date.

The test drive situation was likely going to trickle down to the dealers as a national promotion anyway.

Mahindra is a business. Most business's don't intentionally cause issues with customers or future customers.

I still think there are several things out of the control of the company that are causing issues for them. I am sure they will learn and future models they bring out won't have the same issues.

Volkswagon didn't publicize the arrival of Volkswagon diesel Jettas to test drive until shortly before they arrived. I got to drive one only because I stopped in the dealership the day after the big event and they had not yet sent the Jetta to the next dealership. But you had to place your order at the test drive; the 100% of the Jetta's were on an order basis at that time.

And be real. Mahindra will not pump out the money on advertising until they are 100% sure on the release date. I get the feeling they are only 80-90% sure, which is to be expected in something like this.

And so what if the test drive is of a dealer's truck. Even if I do drive a special demo model, I fully expect the dealer where I test drive to show me over trucks in stock and try to get me to buy one.

It seems I was being kind of harsh there, thanks everyone for pointing that out. I agree with the posters that have called GV out for not communicating enough. In my own business I have found that customers prefer "I don't know" to a non response.

Nah. I posted before that they don't even understand Web Sales 1.0.

How hard would it be for them to set up an auto responder to reply to all the e-mails that they are working hard to get the product to market and they would get back to you when their plans are finalized.

Not to be un PC but there must be some 12 year old Indian kid that could show them how to do this instead of letting all the e-mails go into an unanswered black hole.
