Register to stop seeing this ad! 8000 lbs towing capacity is probably a tad optimistic, 5000 lbs is not pie-in-the-sky at all. A 2.7L Dodge Sprinter is rated for that, and so is the 2.3L Jeep Liberty CRD. |

Alot of time stopping power is what sets the towing ability. With the payload they show to have, if I had trailer brakes 7000 lbs should not be a problem.
Scary story time. I had a customer pull a loghog ( weighs around 10,000 lbs ) with a 1/2 ton chevy on a beatup car trailer ( rated at 7000 max ) that had no brakes on these ozark roads.
