Default Rear suspension?

Register to stop seeing this ad!

OK, I've seen spec sheets that show rear suspension is leaf springs and also multi-link coil springs.

Which is it?

Maybe its the state of the art "multi-leaf coil link " suspension.

JK

Good question.

I'm hoping leaf.

Default suspension photo

This photo is from a review on the 2007 Australian model, but I think the undercarriage has not been changed- hopefully it will be enlightening.

If thats the spring pack we get these things are gonna beat your kidneys out.
Short and thick springs will be rough riding.
In the above pics I have to wonder what the spring in close to the pumkin is for?

Hard to tell what the spring may be for... I wonder if it is some sort of Load Proportional Valve like the older (and maybe newer?) Toyota trucks have. Maybe that spring is connecting to the valve and it moves the valve when there is more load placed in the bed, thus making for more rear brakes when you need 'em... Don't know, it will be interesting to find out for sure... Watch it be something dead simple or stupid... heh...

Every review I've read so far said they ride like a dream when unloaded.
