I my area they start at over 39 grand and run up to 54 grand..

First ones on the lot are always top-end. You can order any combination the on-line selector allows (actually more than that generally, talk to the dealer if you're serious).

I guess so. I could see the 5.0 for workhorse duty, but why would anyone order a premium enigne for a base truck? (the web site says $27k sticker for a 2WD, but no one pays sticker)

After Mahindra disappointing me and Ford not quite hitting the mark I may just wait another 6 months or so and see how Toyotas and Nissans new lineup looks . I figure by then some good information should be leaked out.
