Welcome to Mahindra Truck Forum! Unfortunately, most of us are in the US, and are too jealous that you have a Mahindra to be able to help you

Actually, we have some pretty sharp mechanically minded guys here on the forum and hopefully one of them will be able to help you shortly.

Happy New Year!

Jeep JK's that are sold overseas with a diesel have the VM Motori 2.8L.,not a Peugeot.Maybe the older cj's might have it,not sure. Also, some people refer to anything that's 4x4 as a "jeep".Maybe it ain't? If after a timing belt change and it still won't light up,I would recheck the timing for sure. Also,if it has an electronic fuel injection system it might also employ a crank position sensor that could have been the problem in the first place.

Default timing belt

No its a 2.1 peugeot diesel engine, serviced it today so im sure. the crank was out by one tooth, my inexperience let me down, i put on the new belt checked my timing marks and were all ok. Then i released the tensioner and put the jeep back together. im pretty sure when the tensioner tighened the belt it pulled the crank around slightly luckily their was a small bit of the mark left on the sprocket when i marked them . but its running great now, sweet as a nut, tight as a not, sound as a drum, ticking over like a mouses heart
