Mahindra Pickup Trucks Preview
Monday April 5, 2010
After several delays, it's possible that we'll see Mahindra's compact diesel truck on U.S. soil sometime this summer. Set to arrive are a 2-door truck (the TR-20) and a 4-door pickup (the TR-40). All models will be equipped with electronic stability control, traction control, active rollover mitigation, 4 wheel ABS brakes and a 140 horsepower turbo diesel engine. The Indian automaker says its trucks should get about 30 mpg in highway driving. Prices are expected to start at about $23,000.

Nothing new really, except that they COULD arrive this summer, but unlikelly...

Hopefully M&M/GV announces something during this April 5th time frame that they stated a couple weeks back when they missed the third deadline. The summer is often a great time to buy a truck, especially a truck hungry college graduate with some money to waste...

It’s been a long wait but I’m convinced it will all be worth it. Specs are looking really good - can’t wait for a small truck with a diesel and, to be quite frank, I’m a fan of the way the truck looks!

Take old news, throw in a little journalistic license, and you have news: Mahindra U.S. Diesel Pickup Truck Launch Now Hauled to September - Auto News - Truck Trend

Wishful thinking meets I heard it at the water cooler.

India just made in official about 45 minutes ago: US Mahindra pickups will be at dealers in December 2010! They have already built 175 US prototypes. Good info... finally.

I'm not sure I feel like waiting until December, but I guess that's up to me. Solid information is what I have been hoping for, so that is good news in that regard.

Dear Mahindra Dealers,

Good Afternoon,

Here it is ladies and gentlemen…what we have all been waiting for, Mahindra has confirmed the United States launch timeline.

This is the first time Mahindra has provided Global Vehicles with a definitive timeline for the truck launch. As I have stated recently, Mahindra has been hesitant to provide timing until they were sure that the vehicles are ready.

With this announcement Mahindra is emphatically stating…GET READY!

"By the time the vehicles are in the hands of dealers here and ready for consumers, it will be the end of the year," Pawan Goenka, president of Mahindra's automotive sector, told Automotive News last week during a visit to the United States. "We don't see anything that could come in the way of this timeline.”

Please see the article in the May 17th, 2010 edition of Automotive News, page 8.

This was sent to me today from the corporate office in Georgia.
Looks like end of the year for Sure!
