Default News from a Kansas City Mahindra delaer...

Register to stop seeing this ad!

Tuesday, I stopped by Dick Smith Ford (& soon Mahindra) in Raytown and visited with the New Car Sales Manager. Here is what he had to say:

1. Their first inventory will consist of 14 trucks, 9 of which will be 4x4s.

2. The trucks will probably arrive by late May or early June.

3. Both Disk Smith and Olathe Ford (the two Mahindra dealers in Metro Kansas City - one in Missouri and one in Kansas) have done large amounts of research before deciding to become Mahindra dealers and have full confidence in Mahindra AND the trucks themselves.

4. GV and Mahindra will have an announcement to make about the Mahindra truck sometime next week (April 5-10, 2010).

Choose to believe this or not. I am only reporting what I was told by an actual Mahindra dealer representative.

Let's hope that some of that info is cool. I am not willing to wait for them to cancel the current truck and launch the redesigned truck down the road.

Good news for sure, especially since the KC area dealers are in my area. The dealer map also shows one more in KC, Mo. Still to remain nameless, I guess.

Acording to the person that I talked to, it was decided by GV that the KC market could only support 2 dealers. The third dealer was eliminated.

I got the impression that there was no arm-twisting or "bad Karma" involved. Everyone agreed that it was, over-all, good for business to only have one dealer in each state for now.

For those who are not familiar with Kansas City, the metropolitan area is pretty much evenly divided geographically between Missouri and Kansas.
