Here is an updated report on the Tata Nano from India. They are still wanting to bring it to the US. They think this $2500 coffin will cost about $7-$8000 in North America: Report: Tata hopes to offer $7,000 car in U.S. — Autoblog

We've had Tata Nano Forum up for a long time... it's pretty dead, but maybe it will liven up if they start getting serious about bringing this thing to the States.

I dunno.

I mean, one can purchase a Hyundai Accent, a Kia Rio, or a Nissan Versa for just a few grand more, or a helluva good used car for that kinda coin. Any of which are probably light years better.

If they could sell 'em @ $2500 a pop like they do in their home country I would at least consider one to run the dogsnot outta for about 5-6 years and then junk it and get another.

Would make one helluva good motorhome tow dinghy too!

well if they use Mahindra math that 7 - 8 thousand will be 10 - 12 thousand..

Yup Yup. But then, folks buy those "Smart" cars too. And they don't get any better mileage then a Corolla.
Not sure a Nano would even make a good boat anchor. But I'd like to try it anyway...
