A little less ground clearance for 26 mpg , works for me
My Hilux 2.5 D4D has been averaging around 26 mpg just driving around the mountains. It doesn't seem to be much different on the interstate. With a 1000 pound of grapes in the back, mileage dropped to 24. Same pulling my Casita camper. Diesel don't seem to vary that much with load. Biggest load was my wife's order for 100 landscaping bricks. I didn't know till I picked them up that they weighed 22 lbs each. The engine didn't notice the load, but steering was a little squirrely.
