At 4400 lbs that seems pretty light to me. My 1985 Mitsubishi had a curb weight of 3100 lbs. But if you think about it, the Mahindra is physically larger than the compact trucks of the past

Both truck have 7'+ bed lengths and 4wd. Just off the top of my head I would say the Mahindra is 20-30% bigger all around so hence the weight, not to mention all the safety equipment. At 4400 lbs it seem pretty light. Oh, I forgot to mention the Mitsu only had a payload of 1422 lbs and MPG figures are identical to what Mahindra is reporting.
