I haven't heard anything about making the next model a unibody construction pickup truck, that doesn't make sense with their target customers. I was guessing that maybe they are in a quandary over the poor fuel economy ratings and trying to figure out what to do. Many of us have said one of our primary goals is higher fuel economy without giving up pulling power, so if they can't deliver on the economy they're sunk before they ship the first one. I'm just glad I kept looking for an alternative- if they don't meet the 30 MPG combined that they advertised, I'll feel better about getting something else to drive until Toyota, Ford, Kia, Hyundai or somebody else actually brings a small diesel to market worth buying. I'll tell you what they can do to still sell some of these- price them dirt cheap, lower than dirt. If they won't do that, go back to the drawing board or just stay home.
