Thanks for the advice- I realize I may be able to set up better than I have in the past. I have to carry alot of tools (hand tools, portable power tools, nail guns & air compressor, etc.) when I go out to a job, so when I'm loaded with tools I like the protection a camper shell gives from the weather and from dishonest people in the parking lot of the local Home Depot. When I need to pick up materials there's no benefit from a shell because it all sticks out the back anyway. When I have to haul big things, the shell has to come off, and those fiberglass tops just get heavier every year (I have a system to do it solo, but it's still not easy). Your comments made me start thinking the whole approach over. If I don't go with the top I definitely want those outside hooks though, so add me to the list as fer them.
