Black probably.
Blacked out definitely!
Leather maybe, just depends on what their leather
feels like. If not, probably neoprene covers, easy to clean and quite durable.
Window tinting, definitely.
Possibly new speakers. From an Australian review, sounds like they may be inadequate. Of course, its hard to say what bits will change between the Pik-up and the American model, but probably something as minor as speakers won't change.
Now for the fun stuff
Rip the bed off, put a tray (flat bed) on.
235/85R16 Bridgestone All Terrains. I have them on my Cherokee and absolutely love them on bad roads and mountain trails. They work on 1 ton Ford duallies too, so I know they carry loads too.
Black powder coated wheels, definitely.
Mild lift, only if needed to properly clear those tires. Its hard to do any lifts without compromising load carrying. I saw a 2" body lift somewhere that might make the front tires clear. As I'll probably have to build the rear flatbed, it won't be difficult to make the bed clear larger tires.
Front and rear air lockers if at all possible. I don't try to get into bad spots, but when you do, lockers are amazing.
Aluminum front bumper and bull bar, powder coated black, mounting a 9000 lb. winch.
Perhaps a snorkel, not necessarily for river crossings, but to move the air intake up higher to clear dust.
I'm hoping that the Pik-Up will get the Australian aftermarket guys going so that they offer some of these things for the Mahindra trucks.
O.K., so why put all these upgrades on such an economy truck? Well, I've put them on much more expensive trucks, and have some of these mods on two different vehicles right now. I hope to replace my mountain Jeep and my 1 ton truck with a single vehicle that gets better mileage than either! Can't wait!
Has anyone stumbled across any sites offering aftermarket bits for the Pik-Up yet? Please post links if you have, thanks!
